Social Media: The New Future

Social Media is such a huge part of today’s society. We see almost everyone on it, and typically use it to stay in contact with people or for our own personal shopping. We know that technology is a large part of our lives, whether it be for personal uses or for work. We are constantly on it and always seeing how it is changing. 

It has been identified that a lot of the younger generation is using it, especially to replace having to go out shopping. We have been raised in a generation where everything is literally at our fingertips, that we do not feel the need to even go out and spend hours of our day just shopping. The older generations were raised in a way where you must go to the store in order to know what you really need. They are not as tech savvy so they feel they must physically see the items to know exactly what they need.

This creates a huge opportunity for companies because they are able to market their products through social media and they know that it will reach a wide span of users. Now don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of people from older generations that are getting more into using the internet and social media, but it is generally used by the younger ones. I personally think that this is a great thing for companies because they can make their voice heard without having to spend a ton of money on advertising, billboards, television channels, etc. and they know that it will be reached be a wide variety of people because the internet makes it so much easier for people to send products and companies to other people.

It is much easier to forward a link to someone you think may be interested in the product, so they can see it and read about it for themselves rather than trying to remember what you saw on a billboard and then repeat it to a friend or family member. I know for me, my friends, and my family members, it is very convenient for us to see a post on social media and then forward it to each other. This is honestly how I have found a lot of the products that I use today. Since we know that we are all on social media, we know that the other person will see what we are talking about as well and then it will intrigue them.

I love seeing the things that my favorite companies post on social media pages. I end up following a lot of their pages because I want to make sure that I am up to date on the new products that they release, and then can get my hands on them as soon as possible. If you look at the screenshot above, you will see exactly what I am talking about. I love reading their content and seeing all of the products they have, what customers are saying about the products and company as a whole, and the companies overall viewpoints of maybe something that is currently happening in the world. These posts are not always something that they update on their websites, so by following their pages I can see their opinions and understand more about the company and how they truly view the issues that are current in our society.

As you can see from the picture above, the company can post something so simple, but get so many reactions to it. This is because they are providing content that their customers are interested in. For me, this picture catches my attention because I love to be at the beach in the summer, so the post caught me originally from that, but then it also makes me realize that I want to be looking my best while I am there, which means having the best products.
